Blue Hills Design is based in southern New Hampshire. We started this company because we realized that most of the lamp choices (in stores and websites) focus on the lamp, with the shade being almost an after-thought. We determined that there is a market for classy and unique handmade lamp shades. Our customers buy our decorative lamp shades to either enhance or dress-up their existing lamps.
Our lamp shades are unique in that they involve decoupage using various materials, but our favorite is the high-end look produced using handmade textured organic paper. Most of our paper includes natural botanical elements, such as: flowers, petals, ferns, leaves, grasses, straw, pine needles, hemp, jute, fibers, and threads. Most of the paper we use are made with recycled products. If "buying green" is a concern for you, this is the option to go.
We also decoupage lamp shades using tissue paper and decorative paper napkins. These materials offer more in respect to color and theme choices, however our supply is limited for any custom requests. If you need a shade for a special occasion or holiday, this might be the option to choose.
We are strongly committed to creating high-end lamp shades. We do not mass-produce our shades they are all handmade in New Hampshire, using quality materials. Blue Hills Design is very proud of the service that we provide to our customers.
